The Singapore Raffles International Cultural & Arts Festival shines brilliantly on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore. As a cultural landmark that bridges East and West while connecting the world, this edition of the festival is grounded in a global perspective and deeply integrates the essence of both Eastern and Western cultures. Committed to excellence, the festival presents a high-level artistic platform encompassing masterclasses, grand music celebrations, cultural salons, and academic visits to prestigious institutions. Distinguished musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds—including Malaysia, Australia, and India—are specially invited to lead these sessions. Participants will gain close-up exposure to the essence of diverse musical traditions, transcend cultural boundaries, and engage in an in-depth exploration of the rich diversity and techniques of world music.

Integrating stage practice with academic inquiry, the program brings together distinguished artists, emerging performers, and faculty and students from leading institutions at home and abroad to present a diverse repertoire of musical works. Through a combination of high-caliber performances and on-site dialogue, it offers in-depth exploration of key aspects such as interpretation, performance techniques, and artistic expression, fostering a dynamic synergy of “learning through performance and advancing research through learning.”

This year’s competition brings together a wide range of participants from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, as well as Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea, the United States, and beyond, offering a valuable platform to broaden participants’ international artistic perspectives. With a high level of prestige, strong professional standards, and an expanded scale, the competition features a wider range of categories and disciplines than ever before.

Weather & Clothing

Singapore is located near the equator and has a warm and humid climate throughout the year. August is typically hot and sunny, with occasional brief showers. Lightweight, breathable summer clothing is recommended. It is also advisable to bring sun protection (such as a hat, sunscreen, and umbrella) as well as a light jacket for indoor air-conditioned environments.

Local Experience

Singapore offers a rich multicultural lifestyle and dining experience. From hawker centres to local eateries and shopping mall food courts, participants can experience a wide variety of dishes influenced by Chinese, Malay, Indian, and other Southeast Asian culinary traditions. Meals during the trip can be selected freely according to personal preference.

Daily Expenses

The overall cost of living in Singapore is comparable to major cities in China. The local currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). Both cash and electronic payments are widely accepted. Most establishments support international bank cards and mobile payment systems, making daily transactions convenient.

Transportation
